Frequently asked

Game Night FAQ

Twelve questions our beta testers asked most. If your answer isn't here, email asadtechlead@gmail.com — we read every message.

Is Game Night free?

Yes. Free on Google Play. Non-personalised interstitial ads run between games — never on app launch, never during a Ludo turn, never inside chat. Invite a friend to earn 7 days ad-free per redemption (cap 12 a year).

Does Ludo work offline?

Yes. Solo play vs 1–3 AI opponents needs zero internet. Bluetooth multiplayer between friends in the same room needs zero internet. Only the online-room mode (where friends join from anywhere using a 6-letter code) needs a connection.

How do I play multiplayer with friends?

Three modes. (1) Bluetooth via Google Nearby Connections — devices discover each other automatically when both players open the Friends room. (2) Wi-Fi LAN — fastest, same router, scan a QR code to join. (3) Online — share a 6-letter code, friends from anywhere join via Supabase Realtime channel. The same Ludo board renders for all three modes.

Is Game Night safe for kids?

Yes. Content-rated Everyone. Non-personalised, family-safe ads only. Truth or Dare Friendly tier ships kid-safe by default. The chat feature is gated to age 13+ via an age confirmation; under-13 users can still play every game but cannot send chat messages. There are no in-app purchases that gate gameplay.

What languages does Game Night support?

English and Urdu are the primary in-app languages. The Play Store listing and Truth or Dare prompt packs are translated for Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Spanish (Parchís), Portuguese-BR, and Indonesian. We sprinkle Hinglish and Roman Urdu in descriptions because users often search that way ("ludo khelo", "sach ya jurrat").

What data does Game Night collect?

We collect Advertising ID (for AdMob frequency capping — required) and any display name + messages you choose to share in multiplayer rooms. We do not collect your email, phone number, contact list or location. Roll history, settings and game state stay local in Hive/SharedPreferences. See our privacy policy for the full disclosure.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no signup, no email, no password, no social login. Install the app and start playing. The first thing you see is the home hub, not a sign-in screen.

How big is the install?

The AAB on Play Store is around 50 MB, but Play compresses to a 10–15 MB install depending on your device. We strip unused assets and use Android App Bundle so your device only downloads the ABI it needs.

What is the dice roller for?

Tabletop sessions (D6 / D20 / D100), settling arguments, kids' homework with probability, fantasy RPGs. Up to 12 dice at once. Roll history bucketed by day so you can scroll back through last Sunday's table.

Is Truth or Dare appropriate for kids?

The Friendly pack is. It ships with G-rated prompts vetted for ages 8+. The Romantic and Hard packs are adult-only and clearly labelled. The Classroom pack is for school-friendly ice-breakers. The app defaults to Friendly.

What is the home-screen widget?

A 2×1 widget that rolls a D6 when tapped — handy for kids' homework or quick decision-making. There's also a Quick Settings tile (pull-down shade) so you can roll without opening the app.

Will you add iOS?

Game Night is built with Flutter so the iOS port is mostly free, but TestFlight has a $99/year Apple Developer Program cost and we're routing Android revenue toward that. ETA: 2026 if the Android numbers justify it. Subscribe to the blog for updates.

Can I cancel? Do I lose anything?

Nothing to cancel — there's no subscription. If you uninstall, local roll history and saved wheel lists go with the app (we don't sync to the cloud). Reinstall and you start fresh; that's intentional, so we never touch your data after you remove the app.

How can I report a bug?

Email asadtechlead@gmail.com with your device model, Android version, and what happened. Bugs get a real reply, usually within 24 hours during the working week.
